Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of parts inventory control, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution to ensure optimal stock levels and availability.
- Manage supplier relationships by negotiating pricing, terms, and sourcing strategies to secure high-quality OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and accessories at competitive prices.
- Utilize advanced inventory management systems and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software such as AS400 or similar platforms to track parts movement and maintain accurate data entry.
- Coordinate logistics for shipping & receiving operations, ensuring timely delivery of parts to support service departments and customer needs.
- Lead procurement management efforts by demand planning, demand forecasting, and utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to streamline supply chain processes.
- Collaborate with automotive service teams to understand vehicle systems requirements and provide mechanical knowledge for parts sourcing.
- Implement warehouse management best practices including forklift operation certification for safe handling of inventory.
- Develop internal communication channels to facilitate smooth order management system workflows and parts administration procedures.
- Support sales teams with pricing strategies, part sourcing options, and customer service initiatives to enhance dealership revenue streams.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards related to auto body repair parts, OEM specifications, and logistics inventory management.
Experience
- Proven experience in automotive parts management within a dealership or manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems.
- Demonstrated supplier management experience with negotiation skills that secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems such as ERP platforms (including AS400), Parts administration tools, and logistics software like shipping & receiving systems.
- Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing strategies, demand planning, pricing negotiations, and order management systems.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse operations including forklift certification and implementing safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive parts & accessories along with familiarity in auto body repair materials when applicable.
- Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration across departments such as sales, service, logistics, and procurement teams.
- Ability to analyze data entries accurately within inventory control systems while maintaining detailed records for audit purposes.
