What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at SkyWarrior Flight Training?
We are looking for a highly capable payroll specialist to manage our payroll system. In this role, your duties will include ensuring accurate salary payments and calculating overtime earnings.
To ensure success as a payroll specialist, you should demonstrate knowledge of applicable tax laws and ideally have experience in a similar role, be detail-oriented and someone who can accurately and timely process salaries.
In addition to processing payroll, you will be responsible for providing accounting support in a variety of areas within the Accounting Department, including recording transactions, maintaining records and spreadsheets, processing incoming payments, researching errors, reconciling entries to general ledger, etc.
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
- Preparing ledger entries with earnings and deductions.
- Entering payroll information and maintaining payroll files.
- Issuing paychecks in a timely manner.
- Attending to payroll inquiries from employees.
- Processing and reconciling benefit payments.
- Calculate, file and pay all payroll taxes.
- Completes a variety of accounting processes including payments, invoices, bank deposits, etc.
- Reviews and processes credit card payments, ensuring proper payments of flight school students.
- Assist with month end and year end close.

- Accuracy & Dependability - able to complete assignments with a high degree of accuracy, willingness to take on additional assignments.
- Organization & Time Management - able to work under general supervision; able to take initiative, plan, schedule, and organize tasks; able to handle multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Customer Service - able to personally provide high level of interactive service to targeted customer base.
- Computer Usage - able to utilize internal computer systems. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
