Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Are you an experienced forklift operator looking for a stable opportunity with competitive pay and growth potential? We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support warehouse and production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role that requires operating forklifts and other material handling equipment while working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule & Pay
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour with weekly pay
- Opportunity for permanent hire at a higher pay rate
- Up to 20 hours of overtime per week during peak production periods
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, transport, and organize materials throughout the facility.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, including checking oil, water, fuel, and overall equipment condition.
- Supply production lines with empty pallets and maintain adequate pallet inventory.
- Remove finished products from production lines and transport them to designated staging areas.
- Operate and monitor stretch-wrapping equipment, including changing stretch film as needed.
- Accurately place finished goods into inventory while preventing product damage.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Read and follow Bills of Lading (BOLs) to ensure accurate shipments and inventory control.
- Report shipment discrepancies and inventory concerns to supervisors.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with general warehouse organization, housekeeping, and equipment cleaning.
- Work closely with production teams to meet quality, safety, and productivity goals.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Skid steer, loader, or other heavy equipment experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control, shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be comfortable working in a dusty indoor and outdoor environment year-round.
- Ability to work in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working extended hours and overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
