Responsibilities
.Looking for a part time/full time security officer to fill in at different locations throughout the South Shore . Must have a dependable car .
- Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Manage access control systems to authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while maintaining accurate logs.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by following established protocols including fire safety procedures, first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities to ensure clear communication with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
- Perform background checks on prospective employees or vendors as part of the screening process to uphold security standards.
- Handle conflict de-escalation and conflict management techniques to resolve disputes calmly and professionally.
- Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where authorized), CCTV cameras, and access control systems in compliance with all security regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement roles is highly desirable; military background is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physical security practices including heavy lifting, manual handling, and loss prevention strategies.
- Proven ability to perform surveillance activities using CCTV systems and perform thorough patrols across various environments.
- Strong skills in incident report writing with attention to detail and clarity.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety is preferred; ongoing training in emergency response procedures is advantageous.
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and performing background checks enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to manage conflicts professionally contribute to a positive safety culture.
