Duties
- Safely operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other construction equipment to perform tasks such as digging, lifting, grading, and material handling
- Manage the operation of specialized vehicles like concrete mixers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, and tankers to support various project needs
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure safety standards are met and maintenance issues are addressed promptly
- Assist with site preparation activities such as clearing land, leveling surfaces, and creating access routes for other construction teams
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Collaborate with project managers and crew members to coordinate equipment usage efficiently and meet project timelines
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment operation hours and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment on active job sites with a strong understanding of safety practices
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machinery such as Caterpillar equipment or similar brands
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience driving heavy vehicles including dump trucks, tanker trucks, front loader trucks, or water trucks
- Familiarity with construction site operations and the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs
- Knowledge of various machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and farm equipment is highly desirable
- Ability to read technical manuals and interpret safety instructions effectively
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors
