Role Description The Preschool Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Arden, NC, responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the preschool. This role includes overseeing curriculum implementation, maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment, supervising and supporting teaching staff, and partnering with families to ensure strong communication and engagement. The Preschool Director manages enrollment processes, scheduling, and compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks involve guiding classroom practices, monitoring student progress, organizing events and parent meetings, and coordinating with church leadership to align preschool activities with organizational values. The role also includes managing budgeting and resource allocation for the preschool, as well as leading continuous improvement efforts in educational quality and program effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Early Childhood Education and Education, with experience supporting preschool- and kindergarten-age children.
- Proficiency in Curriculum Development, including designing and implementing age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.
- Experience working with Kindergarten and preschool programs, understanding developmental milestones and best practices in early learning.
- Ability to manage Budgeting responsibilities, including planning, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring responsible use of resources.
- Relevant degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field; advanced training or certifications in early childhood leadership are beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor staff and foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging families, staff, and community partners in a professional, respectful manner.
- Knowledge of state and local preschool licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and best practices in child protection.
