primary functions:
Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department by performing a wide range of duties handled with confidentiality, accuracy, and discretion. Maintain the HRIS and all employee records and files. Support benefits administration, employee relations, and organizational communication. Professionally interface with staff, management, board members, vendors, and visitors of the Credit Union.

- Self-manage workload to align with deadlines and goals set in collaboration with Human Resources Manager.
- Respond to and assess the urgency of internal and external inquiries. Disseminate information on benefits, policies, and procedures, and route requests as appropriate - maximizing technology for efficiency.
- Apply critical thinking to problem solving issues, make decisions and identify efficiencies that are in the best interest of the Credit Union, its members, and staff.
- In partnership with the Human Resource Manager, coordinate and conduct new hire orientation including collaborating with the Leadership Team on training schedules, documentation, and other activities.
- Maintain up-to-date, well-organized, and accurate personnel files and HRIS database records.
- Process daily correspondence, including employment verification forms. Utilize a range of web-based applications and ensure accuracy of work.
- Formulate, compose, and execute specialized daily correspondence with accuracy and discretion, within standard formatting, gaining approval from HR Manager.
- Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, schedule appointments, conduct research, manage department calendar and other administrative support for the Human Resources Manager, and other members of the Leadership Team.
- Manage and track employee leaves of absence in partnership with the Payroll and Benefits Specialist to ensure a smooth process for both employees and payroll. Provide timely communication, guidance, and support to employees on leave, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Maintain and stay up to date on employee retirement plan requests, including loan requests, contribution changes, and account maintenance. Partner with Payroll and Benefits to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely processing.
- Remain abreast of regulatory and legislative changes impacting employment, compensation, and benefits administration.
- Promote enhancement of knowledge and skill development for self and others by sharing relevant information and insights with management and team members.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify ideas, methods, and procedures that minimize expenses, reduce inefficiencies, and streamline HR processes.
- Keep the HR Manager informed of departmental needs, challenges, or concerns in a timely manner. Foster a positive, solutions-oriented attitude within the team.
- Comply with all Federal regulations, Credit Union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.

minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Two to three years of professional experience in human resources or a related area.
- Solid understanding of standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures across multiple functional areas (e.g., benefits, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent).
