Role Purpose Statement
The Senior Regional Food Safety Manager serves as the primary Food Safety Business Partner for assigned operational locations within the region. The position is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of food safety programs through audits, compliance assessments, risk evaluations, coaching, and performance monitoring.
Working closely with Regional Operations Vice Presidents, General Managers, and site leadership teams, this role drives accountability, strengthens food safety culture, and supports sustainable compliance improvements across the region.
The position functions as an independent compliance and risk management partner to Operations. While providing coaching, guidance, verification, and escalation support, responsibility for the execution and sustainability of food safety programs remains with site operational leadership.
Travel Requirements
Up to 75% travel to operational locations throughout the assigned region.
Main Accountabilities
Food Safety Compliance & Risk Management
- Conduct food safety assessments and audits to ensure compliance with company, customer, regulatory, and certification standards.
- Evaluate Food Safety Management Systems, HACCP, preventive controls, sanitation, allergen programs, and supplier controls.
- Identify risks, compliance gaps, recurring issues, and audit readiness; escalate significant concerns as needed.
- Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and crisis management efforts.
Business Partnership & Operational Support
- Serve as the primary food safety partner for assigned locations.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to address risks, improve compliance, and strengthen accountability.
- Provide technical guidance and practical solutions to support operational performance.
Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement
- Review audit findings and support effective corrective action planning.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and verify sustainable corrective actions.
- Monitor trends, recurring findings, and improvement opportunities across the region.
Performance Reporting & Food Safety Culture
- Track compliance metrics and analyze data from audits, inspections, testing, and complaints.
- Develop reports and scorecards for regional and corporate leadership.
- Promote food safety ownership, preventive thinking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Training & Capability Building
- Coach and mentor food safety personnel and operational leaders.
- Support implementation of corporate food safety programs.
- Identify development needs and share best practices across locations.
Salary : $110,939 - $135,000
