Position Title: Solutions Architect (Java / Cloud)
Location: Tysons Corner, VA Remote, (Preferred Local)
Duration: Fulltime
Role Summary
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions for the platform. This role is responsible for end-to-end architecture, aligning business needs with technical strategy in a cloud-native, microservices ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end system architecture for fraud investigation workflows
- Define microservices boundaries and integration patterns
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance
- Architect integrations with external systems (FPS, OnePI, FileNet)
- Define API contracts and data flow models
- Lead design of REST and event-driven communication
- Design AWS-based solutions (S3, IAM/STS, compute)
- Guide containerization and orchestration strategies
- Ensure cloud cost optimization and resilience
- Define architecture for secure data handling (PII)
- Implement authentication/authorization (JWT, IAM)
- Ensure compliance with federal standards
- Establish design guidelines and best practices
- Conduct architecture reviews and technical audits
- Work closely with development teams for implementation alignment
Required Skills
- Strong background in Java Spring Boot
- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture
- Expertise in API design (REST/OpenAPI)
- Strong AWS experience (S3, IAM, networking basics)
- Docker & container ecosystems
- CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate
- Understanding of distributed data systems
- Messaging/event-driven systems (Kafka or similar — optional)
- System design at scale
- Trade-off analysis (performance vs cost vs complexity)
- Strong documentation and communication
Nice to Have
- Experience with fraud detection or investigation systems
- Knowledge of FileNet / ECM systems
- Exposure to Teradata or large enterprise data platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/master's in computer science or related field
- 10–15 years of experience
- 3–5 years in architecture roles
