Stewardess - The Humidor

The Humidor Bourbon & Cigar Lounge Cocktail & Cigar Stewardess is responsible for serving beverages to guests and assuring that the wants and needs of guests are consistently exceeded as well as educating guests to the selection of our Humidor, promoting, up-selling, and proper service including but not limited to cutting and lighting of cigars.

• Complies with all training and certification requirements for excellent knowledge, sales ability, and service of all stocked tobacco products.
• Always prepared for a shift with tools and uniform requirements, including but not limited to, cigar cutter(s), torch/lighter/matches sufficient for lighting cigars correctly, wine opener, pens, etc.
• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly quality service and preparation of beverages to all customers.
• Communicates to supervisor any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information.
• Up-sells and regularly replenishes beverages, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Converses with Guests about alcoholic beverages, advising the types and styles of beverage, taking beverage orders, and serving beverage.
• Promotes, sells, delivers cocktails as well as potentially make and present table-side cocktails.
• Complies with legal provisions of local liquor codes.
• Assesses guest's intoxication level and takes appropriate action as needed.
• Knowledge of when to cut-off intoxicated guests and ability to do so within a reasonable situation. Ability to communicate with all necessary parties when this has occurred, i.e. management, other servers, bartenders, etc.
• Monitors factors which interfere with the total experience of the guest.
• Uses refrigeration system correctly.
• Uses coffee system correctly.
• Adheres to stock control procedures.
• Comply with all department rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls and all local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Accepts payment and/or comp authorization upon service of all beverages prepared and/or served. Complies with ABC training.
• Balances bank at end of shift. Manages his/her bank and balances it daily.
• Participates in developing specials.
• Trains interested assistants/cross-trained staff for the stewardess position.
• Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.
• Cleans menus as required throughout the shift.
• Cleans and organizes the lounge daily including deep cleaning of certain areas as assigned.
• Holds fellow staff accountable to cleanliness and organization of the lounge.
• Polishes China, silverware, glassware daily.
• Lightly dusts and maintains the restaurant.
• Promotes positive public and employee relations.
• Always present oneself in a neat and clean appearance and upholds highest uniform standards.
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cigar stock, procedures, pairings, etc.
• Allows no more than two (2) butts in an ashtray before it is changed.
• Ensures chairs and tables are fully clean and reset with fresh ash trays when one guest leaves before another sits.
• Communicates efficiently and effectively with management as to stocking/ordering needs. Does not let the lounge run out of anything without management being aware before stock is low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school Diploma or education equivalent required.
• 2 years' experience bartending in a high-volume front bar, service bar, and/or fine dining environment or nightclub setting.
• Must be a knowledgeable mixologist.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have advanced bartending techniques and knowledge of bartending recipes & mixology.
• Experience with elevated garnish, ice & glassware programs preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of wine varietals & popular producers along with advanced knowledge of beer & liquor brands.
• Must have previous experience & be comfortable with jigger usage.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to wear and appear to be comfortable in the assigned uniform provided by Sky River without restrictions.
