POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Employment Specialist is responsible for direct service delivery, supporting individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment through job development, coaching, and ongoing support.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct Client Services (CORE ROLE)
- Provide job placement and support services
- Complete:
- Career Profiles
- Employment plans
- Session/Case notes
- Monthly Progress Summary
- Assist clients with:
- Resume building
- Interview preparation
- Job readiness skills
- Support clients in obtaining and maintaining employment
- Respond appropriately and promptly to on-call situations.
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the supervisor or department head.
- Job Development & Placement
- Identify job opportunities for clients
- Build relationships with employers (with guidance from Lead Employment Specialist)
- Match clients to appropriate positions
- Support onboarding and job retention
- Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow VR and company requirements
- Maintain organized client records
- Maintain employment-required documentation (current auto insurance, driver’s license), certifications (i.e., First Aid, CPR, HCSP, etc.), and training (OSHA, Abuse & Neglect, etc.) as required to comply with federal, state, and program requirements and standards.
- Audit files to ensure they meet the established standards and protocols.

- Provide updates on client progress
- Communicate with:

- Attend team and departmental meetings
- Implement direction and feedback from the Lead Employment Specialist
- Employee must successfully complete all required training within the allotted time.
- Maintain good attendance throughout employment.
- Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.
- Report to work as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Employee must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree or higher preferred with 2 years of comparable work experience.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain electronic records
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Must possess a commitment to the belief that all people have the right to dignity, respect, opportunity, and full community inclusion.

- Employee must be able to read and write proficiently.
- Employee must have and maintain a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, and proof of a good driving record.
