MRO Engineering Technician
Location: North Los Angeles, Ca
We are seeking an experienced MRO Engineering Technician to join our team. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and plays a key role in supporting advanced avionics repair and engineering activities.
What You’ll Bring
- 15 years of experience working with avionics components in an MRO environment, with a strong focus on diagnosing and repairing LRUs
- Extensive hands-on experience in avionics, electrical systems, or a related technical field
- Proven experience developing out-of-scope repairs for avionics and electronic components
- Ability to research and identify suitable replacements for obsolete components
- Experience creating supplemental technical data (drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, procedures, tooling, etc.) to support repairs and part substitutions
- Familiarity with CAD tools
- Strong understanding of FAA, EASA, and other aviation regulatory requirements (Part 145, etc.)
- Experience with avionics hardware and software integration
- Relevant certifications (A&P, FCC GROL, IPC, or similar) are a plus
What You’ll Do
- Develop and author repair instructions, rework procedures, and test methods for circuit boards, power supplies, transmitters, receivers, and display systems (including RF, RADAR, and SatCom components)
- Collaborate with operations and quality teams to identify equivalent parts and implement new repair solutions
- Ensure all work complies with applicable aviation regulations and industry standards
- Maintain accurate documentation for repairs, modifications, and calibrations
- Support engineering and operations with additional technical assignments as needed
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
