Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for young children. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, promote a positive educational environment, and provide personalized care to students. This role is vital in fostering early childhood development and ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom setting. Prior experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred, along with a genuine passion for working with children of various ages.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Support children during classroom activities, playtime, and mealtime to promote social and emotional development
- Supervise children to ensure safety and proper behavior management throughout the day
- Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining cleanliness
- Provide individual attention to children with special needs or disabilities, supporting their unique learning requirements
- Support children's developmental milestones through engaging activities focused on preschool, toddler care, or infant care as needed
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving tasks in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive conduct and social skills
- Support classroom management by encouraging inclusive participation and respectful interactions among students
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is a plus
- Familiarity with special education techniques and working with children with disabilities is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Patience, compassion, and a nurturing attitude toward young learners
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive environment
- Prior experience in childcare, nannying, or caregiving roles demonstrates relevant skills for this position
