PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to our residents in a cbrf setting in Menomonie and Chippewa Falls. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in geriatrics, behavioral and housekeeping tasks. This role is vital in ensuring that residents receive the highest level of care and support during their daily activities.

Duties

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment.
• Monitor resident health by observing changes in condition and reporting any concerns to management & healthcare professionals.
• Help with mobility assistance, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Support staff and residents with basic tasks as needed.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to resident care per DHS 83.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and an understanding of healthcare.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members effectively.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
• Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
