Overview
We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our team, with a strong focus on working with students with special needs, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
The ideal candidate not only has solid piano skills but also understands how to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning styles. This role is perfect for someone who truly enjoys working with children, values structure and consistency, and finds joy in helping students grow through music.
Who We Are Looking For
- Strong piano skills; able to teach beginner to intermediate students
- Experienced in working with children with special needs (Autism, ADHD, etc.)
- Patient, calm, reliable, and emotionally supportive
- Comfortable working with children ages 4–18
- Prior teaching experience (private or group lessons) preferred
- ABA experience or background as a BT/RBT is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills with both children and parents
- Able to create structured, engaging, and fun lessons tailored to individual needs
Responsibilities
- Teach 1:1 piano lessons (occasional small group sessions)
- Adapt lesson plans to support students with special needs
- Use positive reinforcement and behavior-support strategies
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and predictable learning environment
- Communicate student progress and updates with parents and studio staff
- Support students’ confidence, emotional regulation, and musical growth
Requirements
- Piano proficiency with teaching ability
- Degree in Music or related field OR equivalent teaching/performance experience
- Experience working with children (special needs experience strongly preferred)
- ABA / behavioral therapy experience is a plus
- Patient, enthusiastic, and dependable
- Access to reliable transportation (for in-home lessons)
- Must pass a background check
