Starting Pay: $20.00-$24.00/hour DOQ Work Schedule: Day shift

POSITION SUMMARY

The Promotions Assistant is responsible for promoting and increasing sales of Skookum Creek Tobacco products within tribal and non-tribal retail accounts. The position will build and support strong relationships with retailers by setting appointments and providing a consistent and professional approach with promotional activities designed to increase product awareness to the end user, while building sales growth and profits for both our customers and our company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Must have the ability to communicate with clients of different races/ethnicities while maintaining a professional, courteous attitude and appearance.
  • Completes follow up phone calls and visits to ensure customer needs are being handled promptly and efficiently.
  • Must be able to accurately receive orders, follow up with customers and liaise with other departments to achieve goals.
  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of the Sales / Promotions Program.
  • Drive company vehicle over established route to deliver products while talking to new potential customers and collect money from customers, make change and record transactions on order form.
  • Acknowledges, greets and converses with customers at promotions and other events.
  • Promotes Skookum Creek Tobacco brands by interacting with customers in an enthusiastic, helpful and friendly manner.
  • Provides assistance at events and tours.
  • Must be available for 4-5 nights monthly out of town (possibly one per week).
  • Meets attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and numerical information to practical work-related situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect and evaluate relevant information, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret instructions provided in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to routine and non-routine situations.

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, data entry systems, and standard business software as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/GED and four years relevant experience.

Certificates & Licenses: Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License and must be bondable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to travel within the state, with occasional overnight stays. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, and work at a retail location. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke and tobacco dust.

Other Requirements

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and follow the Squaxin Island Tribe's drug policies. This position requires strict confidentiality.
