About Skipit
Skipit is a trauma-informed AI Chrome extension that detects distressing scenes in streaming content and gives viewers the option to skip, mute, or read a summary as they watch. We're building for trauma survivors, people with phobias, neurodivergent viewers, parents, and anyone who's ever had to look away from a screen.
We're weeks from beta and launching in July 2026.
The Role
We're looking for a founding engineer to help us ship. You'll work directly with the founder on a small, focused team. There's no bureaucracy, no handholding, and no shortage of hard problems.
The problems are hard — computer vision, agentic AI pipelines, real-time processing, and a proprietary dataset that doesn't exist anywhere else yet.
What You'll Work On
- Building and iterating on the Chrome extension backend
- Developing and improving our scene-level trigger detection pipeline
- Contributing to our proprietary trigger intelligence dataset
- Experimenting with computer vision models for real-time content analysis
- Helping architect systems that scale from beta to full launch
What We're Looking For
- Backend or full-stack engineering experience
- Comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast
- Cares about the mission, not just the tech
- Can own problems end to end without being managed
Compensation
Equity-only. No salary, no visa sponsorship. We support CPT authorization for international students.
