Skip’s After Market is looking for dedicated culinary professionals to join our growing back-of-house team inside Brennan’s Market on Madison’s west side.
This role focuses on preparing and executing our menu of thoughtful shareables, with a heavy emphasis on meticulously crafted toasts and boards. As an all-day elevated neighborhood clubhouse, we operate in a collaborative environment where BOH team members handle food prep, precise plating, kitchen maintenance, and dish area upkeep throughout their shift.

Responsibilities
- Executing food prep and plating for a menu focused on toasts, boards, and shareable items
- Operating and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment
- Opening and closing kitchen side-work
- Receiving and organizing inventory and fresh ingredients
- Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and impeccably organized workspace
- Managing dish area upkeep, service ware, and general kitchen cleaning tasks
- Working collaboratively with FOH, market, and service staff to ensure smooth service
- Assisting with special event prep and community programming menus
- Adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or prep experience highly preferred
- Comfortable operating and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment
- Strong attention to detail and knife skills
- ServSafe/Food Manager certificate is a plus
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a growing environment
- Weekend availability is required, including some evenings and events
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Position Details
- Full-time position
- 30–40 hours/week
- Operating Hours: Wednesday–Saturday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Shifts will include pre-opening prep and post-closing breakdown)
- $20–$22/hr based on experience
