π€ Senior Mechanical Engineer | Surgical Robotics π Austin, Texas (On-site) | Competitive Salary
This is a hands-on design hire for a market-leading medical technology company building surgical robotic technology. You will be developing cutting edge technology used to improve patient outcomes and relieve pain for patients across the globe.
Working closely with a collaborative development team, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists, you will take components and sub-assemblies from functional requirements through to a fully integrated final product design, while hitting performance, time-to-market, cost and quality targets.
What you will own:
- Developing and specifying product functional requirements and testing strategies aligned to user needs, internal/external standards and regulatory requirements
- Designing, testing and integrating components and sub-assemblies into the final product design
- Root cause investigation, solution development, and evaluation against requirements
- CAD 3D modelling and detailed engineering drawings to company drafting standards
- Achieving performance, time-to-market, cost and product quality goals
- Collaboration with the development team, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists
What you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Working knowledge of 3D modelling software, with hands-on Solidworks experience
- Direct experience working in the medical device industry
- Experience in EMC and Safety Testing for IEC 60601 certification
- Power tool development experience
- FEA and CFD simulation experience
- Risk analysis, dFMEA, and tolerance stackup analysis expertise
- V&V testing and 510(k) submission experience preferred
- Thermal treatment of stainless steel and welding experience preferred
