I am partnering with a global medical technology leader with close to a century of heritage in enhancing patient mobility, to appoint a Principal Robotics Engineer within their advanced surgical robotics division.
The Role
As a Principal Robotics Engineer, you will take a senior, hands-on technical role in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge surgical robotic systems. Working cross-functionally with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams, you will drive the architecture and implementation of complex robotics software, ensuring all deliverables meet the rigorous standards of a regulated medical device environment.
What They Are Looking For
Required:
- Strong C proficiency with demonstrated ability to write production-grade code for embedded systems
- Proven hands-on experience in medical robotics development
- Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time software
- Experience working within a regulated medical device environment (FDA, ISO 13485 or similar)
- Strong collaborative and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX or Fremont, CA
Preferred:
- Experience with motion planning, kinematics, and robotic control systems
- Familiarity with surgical robotic platforms
- Background in systems integration and hardware/software interfacing
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards (e.g. IEC 60601)
- Experience mentoring or technically leading engineering teams
