Pre-Engineered Metal Building Erector

Skillforce is currently hiring Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Erectors for commercial and industrial projects in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. This role involves assembling, installing, and finishing pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel systems.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity working up to 50 hours per week, with pay up to $30/hr depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and erect PEMB systems, including framing, wall panels, and roof components.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.

• Bolt, weld, or rivet structural connections as needed.

• Operate lifts, hoists, and other construction equipment safely.

• Install insulation, siding, trim, and other building materials.

• Maintain OSHA and company safety compliance on every job site.

• Work effectively with supervisors and crew members to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in metal building erection, steel work, or similar construction.

• Ability to read and work from blueprints and layout drawings.

• Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather.

• Skilled in hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment operation.

• Dependable and able to work 40–50 hours per week.

• Reliable transportation required.
