Schaus-Vorhies Contracting is a well-established pre-engineered metal building erection company with over 40 years in business. We are currently hiring experienced Steel Erectors / PEMB Installers to join our growing crew.

If you have at least 1 year of experience in metal building construction or structural steel erection, we want to talk to you!

This role includes all phases of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) construction, including:

• Structural steel frames
• Girts and purlins
• Wall and roof panels
• Insulation systems
• Trim and flashing
• Gutters and downspouts
• Specialty project components as required
  
  
  

This is a hands-on, physical work performed outdoors and at heights.

Schedule & Travel

• Monday–Friday
• 8–10 hour days
• Overtime frequently available
• Occasional Saturdays based on project deadlines
• Per diem for projects outside Fairfield, IA
• Hotel provided for overnight work
• Company pool vehicle available for travel to/from job sites
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in steel erection, metal buildings, or commercial construction
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work at heights above 15 feet
• Must be 18 years or older
• Willingness to work overtime
• Pre-employment drug screen required
  
  
  

All company-provided fall protection (PFAS and retractable lanyards) is supplied. Personal fall protection equipment must be inspected prior to use on job sites.
