Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Ironworker/Welders for a commercial construction project in Union, NJ. This role involves structural steel installation, Stick and Flux welding, and working with specialized equipment in a fast-paced jobsite environment.
Candidates must be comfortable working at heights, operating equipment, and performing precision welding tasks. This is a great opportunity for skilled tradesmen looking for steady work on a commercial project.
Responsibilities:
- Install steel lifting columns and structural components
- Perform welding on reinforcing steel and structural elements
- Install and assist with hydraulic jacks
- Perform torch cutting as required
- Operate manlifts and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Read and follow blueprints, layout drawings, and job specifications
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Ironworker and/or Welder in commercial construction
- Valid welding certification required-Flux and Stick
- OSHA 10 certification required
- OSHA Subpart R (Steel Erection) knowledge required
- Manlift and forklift certifications required
- Fall protection training required
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

- Welding shield and leathers

- Basic hand tools (wrenches, tape measure, square)
- Hard hat
