Position Overview
The Social Services Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of social services within the facility, ensuring residents’ emotional, social, and psychosocial needs are met while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the Social Services Department in a skilled nursing setting
Conduct psychosocial assessments and care planning for residents
Provide counseling and support to residents and families
Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
Serve as resident advocate and address grievances or concerns
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with CMS, AHCA, and facility standards
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field (required)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility preferred
Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting strongly preferred
