Business Development Manager (West Coast)
At Skidabrader, we utilize our world-class, proprietary pavement texturing equipment to improve the safety and skid resistance of North America’s highways, bridges, and airport runways. We are currently looking for Regional Business Development Managers based California (serving surrounding states), with the ability to travel throughout their assigned territory.
This role will be based out of our California & Ft. Worth office (on occasion).
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities to support growth within your assigned territory.
- Build and strengthen relationships with DOTs, AGC chapters, and general contractors in specific regions.
- Position Skidabrader and Frontline Road Safety as strategic solutions providers, highlighting safety, skid resistance, and long-term value.
- Perform market research to identify business opportunities, developing relationships with construction companies, transportation authorities, and state/local agencies.
- Prepare and present sales proposals and attend industry events.
- Manage customer relationships and accounts while traveling 6–8 nights per month (reduced travel expectations compared to traditional sales roles).
- Provide product training presentations for customers as needed.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
- Results-driven, self-starter mindset with a high sense of urgency.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in business development or project management within construction equipment, concrete, asphalt, striping, or paving industries.
- Background working with government clients, DOTs, and general contractors at higher levels of management.
- Ability to read site plans and identify potential challenges.
- Knowledge of contracts and contract language.
- Understanding of flexible and rigid pavements, aggregates, and mix designs.
- DOT, airport, and AIRNAV knowledge preferred.
- Familiarity with highway construction, maintenance, and related equipment is a plus.
Compensation and Growth:
- Texas: Target range $100,000 – $125,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications (not guaranteed; final offer will be based on individual background and fit).
