Certified Driving School Instructor

SK Driving School Inc., a reputable and well-established driving school in Jamaica, New York, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driving Instructor to join our team. As a driving instructor, you will play a vital role in helping individuals develop safe driving skills and acquire their driver’s licenses. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive driving lessons to students of varying skill levels, ensuring they receive the knowledge and practical experience needed to become confident and responsible drivers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions for students in accordance with New York State DMV guidelines.
• Instruct students on driving rules, regulations, and safe driving techniques, emphasizing defensive driving practices.
• Deliver engaging classroom sessions to educate students on traffic laws, road signs, and driving theory.
• Assess students’ driving abilities, identify areas for improvement, and develop personalized lesson plans.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to enhance students’ skills and confidence.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism while addressing students’ concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress, including driving hours and evaluation reports.
• Ensure the safety of students during driving lessons by adhering to all traffic laws.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to schedule lessons efficiently.
• Stay updated with the latest driving laws, regulations, and teaching techniques.

Requirements:

• Valid and current New York State Driving School Instructor Certificate (MV-524).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a driving instructor, preferably in a professional school setting.
• Strong knowledge of New York State driving laws, traffic rules, and road safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse students.
• Patience, understanding, and ability to maintain composure under stress.
• Strong observational skills to assess students’ abilities and identify areas for improvement.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• High level of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism.
• Clean driving record with no history of traffic violations or accidents.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from a recognized driving instructor training program.
• Bilingual proficiency in English to cater to a diverse student population.

• Competitive Pay:
• Junior Instructor: $25 per road lesson | $40 per road test
• Senior Instructor (1000 hours experience): $30 per road lesson | $50 per road test
