Natural Gas Originator

We're looking for a commercially driven Natural Gas Originator to join our growing origination team. This is an opportunity to build and expand a physical natural gas portfolio while working alongside traders, schedulers, and risk professionals to monetize market opportunities across North America.

As a Natural Gas Originator, you'll be responsible for sourcing and structuring physical transactions that enhance our portfolio of transportation, storage, and asset positions. You'll identify commercial opportunities, develop relationships across the market, and bring deals that create value and optionality for the trading desk.

Key responsibilities include:

• Originating physical natural gas supply, sales, storage, and transportation transactions.
• Structuring commercial agreements that create operational and trading flexibility.
• Identifying basis, transportation, and capacity-related opportunities across major North American markets.
• Building relationships with producers, utilities, industrial customers, marketers, aggregators, and midstream companies.
• Partnering closely with traders to align originated positions with portfolio optimization strategies.
• Negotiating and executing commercial agreements while coordinating with legal, credit, and risk teams.
• Monitoring market developments, infrastructure constraints, and regulatory changes that create commercial opportunities.
• Maintaining a robust deal pipeline and providing market intelligence to leadership.

• 5-10 years of experience in natural gas origination, physical trading, commercial development, or related energy marketing roles.
• Demonstrated success originating transactions that create commercial or trading value.
• Strong understanding of pipeline capacity, transportation, storage, basis markets, and physical gas fundamentals.
• Experience structuring transportation, storage, and physical supply arrangements.
• An established industry network and ability to generate meaningful deal flow.
• Strong commercial instincts, negotiation skills, and relationship-building capabilities.
