Job Summary
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for leading and managing all manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role provides strategic direction for plant operations, oversees production teams, and ensures alignment with company goals related to quality, safety, delivery, and cost performance. The Director of Manufacturing collaborates closely with operations, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams to optimize manufacturing processes and support business growth. This role may also provide operational support across departments when necessary to maintain productivity and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all manufacturing operations
• Oversee plant coordination, production planning, and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and process optimization
• Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with manufacturing teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
• Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to improve production processes
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost
• Develop and mentor manufacturing leadership and production teams
• Implement workforce training programs and leadership development initiatives
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements
• Maintain effective communication between departments to ensure operational alignment
Job Duties
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations across all production areas
• Monitor production schedules to ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met
• Review operational data and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime
• Support capital equipment planning and facility improvement initiatives
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tools
• Participate in budgeting, cost management, and operational planning
• Assist with troubleshooting production challenges and implementing corrective actions
• Support cross-functional teams with process improvements and operational initiatives
• Perform other operational or leadership duties as required to support plant performance
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with leadership responsibility
• Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple departments
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven decision-making approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and leadership teams
• Proficiency in ERP systems, manufacturing reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
• High level of accountability, adaptability, and attention to operational detail
Salary : $140,000 - $155,000
