Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer with 5-7 years of experience to join our team. This individual will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision parts. The ideal candidate will be proficient in G & M code, capable of performing complex machining operations, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop accurate CNC programs efficiently and on schedule.
- Set up, check, and operate CNC machine tools to perform complex machining operations.
- Run both new and repeat jobs with consistency, speed, and accuracy.
- Interpret and understand program formats, fixturing setups, and machining sequences.
- Arrange, mount, and secure workpieces-including the ability to fixture parts when no fixtures exist.
- Set machine stops and calibrate fixtures to the correct reference points.
- Install CNC programs into machine consoles and verify proper alignment.
- Manually cycle machines to verify tooling, speeds, feeds, clearances, and part positioning before production.
- Adjust machine parameters to correct deviations from program specifications.
- Recognize, report, and correct machining errors as they arise.
- Recommend tooling, sequences, and improvements for new or complex machining requirements.
- Train and mentor junior machine operators as needed.
- Troubleshoot operational difficulties and perform necessary adjustments to ensure smooth machining.
- Work from detailed blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of machinist experience in a CNC environment.
- Strong mathematical abilities including geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and metric conversions.
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
- Extensive knowledge of machine shop practices and CNC programming techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and routings.
- G & M code proficiency required.
- Experience with conversational controls is a plus.
- Ability to calculate feeds, speeds, and machining parameters independently.
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Salary : $56,160 - $62,400
