Summary
The Facility Coordinator reports to the Facility Manager and is an integral member of the SITE SANTA FE team. With the Facility Manager, they support the maintenance, upkeep, organization, security and safety of the physical building. They also support all on-site and off-site events (Exhibition Openings, Annual Benefit, Member events, Public Programs, Education Programs, etc.) as requested. This is a part-time, regular position that requires availability on weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Facility Manager with regular maintenance of the building and grounds as well as special projects
- Assist in daily responsibilities of opening and/or closing procedures of the building and ensuring cleanliness inside and outside of facility.
- Coordinate and complete assigned projects on deadline and pro-actively pick up projects from ongoing punch list.
- Respond to staff needs in connection with the facility through the internal ticketing system.
- Support coordination needs of custodial team including basic janitorial support.
- Assist the Facility Manager with the maintenance of the museum's security systems and cameras, as well as safety protocols and training.
- Support Front of House staff (Visitor Services SITE Guides) should they require assistance de-escalating situations involving security issues
- Monitor the front doors for mail and vendor (UPS & FedEx) deliveries.
- Assist in maintaining supplies and inventory of equipment and furniture for the organization.
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing organization of shared storage spaces.
- Act as liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies when the Facility Manager is not present (e.g. SFFD, SFPD, etc.)
- Support the Facility Manager in any facility-related project as needed
- Support all internal and external activations in SITE’s building, including nights and weekends, by:
- Set-up and break-down SITE owned furniture for events
- Open and close building when events occur outside of business hours, as requested
- Coordinate and support planning of SITE-produced events as assigned
Qualifications
- Technical and mechanical background, entry level knowledge and practical experience in building systems, including HVAC, humidifier, boilers, electrical, plumbing, security, information technology, and audio/visual
- Strong situational judgment and responsiveness; pro-active and reliable
- Strong communication skills: must be able to interact courteously with visitors and event attendees while simultaneously enforcing usage policies
- Experienced and comfortable operating workshop and power tools and equipment
- Flexible schedule (nights and weekends required)
- Basic understanding of facility maintenance regulations (i.e., fire codes and alcohol service requirements)
- Exemplify and embrace SITE’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility
- Attain and prove CPR, AED and First Aid certification, or commitment to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Computer literacy and competency in the Google and MS Office suites
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Requires standing and/or walking, with regular need to perform physical actions that include sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling materials, pulling, carrying, standing on ladders and pushing
- May occasionally require lifting of various materials and equipment to a maximum of 50 pounds
- Facility may expose employee to loud noise levels, temperature changes, and physical obstacles
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
