What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly and Test Operator position at SisTech Manufacturing?
SisTech Manufacturing is an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company in central Oregon. We are seeking a motivated individual for a position in mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, programming, product testing, and packaging. We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing detailed work, is able to follow precisely written and oral instructions, and is willing to work in a variety of roles as directed for the success of the team. This is an entry-level role designed for someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves, follow processes closely, and grow into more advanced technical work over time. Preference will be given to applicants with related prior work experience.
What you'll do:
- Support the production floor team with assembly tasks and material handling
- Follow documented work instructions and quality procedures carefully and consistently
- Depanel finished PCB assemblies and prepare boards for testing and shipment
- Perform basic functional testing and visual inspection of assembled boards
- Package finished products per customer specifications and quality standards
- Learn to operate automated production equipment as you develop on the job
What we're looking for:
- High attention to detail
- Steady hands and comfort working precisely with small components
- Ability to follow written work instructions and quality standards consistently
- A willingness to ask questions and learn new skills
- Dependable, on-time, and a good teammate
- Ability to work in either a seated or standing position for extended periods
Nice to have (but not required):
- Any hands-on experience with electronics — hobby, coursework, repair, or military
- Familiarity with basic hand tools or production environments
- Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or quality-focused role
Where this role can take you:
We're a small team, and we invest in people who show up and take the work seriously. As you build experience, there's a real path toward more advanced responsibilities — including detailed soldering and rework, automated equipment operation (SMT lines and AOI systems), and potentially circuit-level troubleshooting and diagnostics. We'd rather grow someone from within than hire from outside.
What we offer:
- Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience ($18 - $24/hr)
- A clear path to grow into higher-skill, higher-pay technical roles
- Full employee health insurance coverage, with available plans for spouse, dependent, and family
- Paid time off, starting at 2 weeks per year, and 6 paid holidays
- Retirement plan with company match to contributions
- Stable, daytime hours in a clean manufacturing environment
- A small, collaborative team where your contributions are genuinely valued
Salary : $18 - $24
