SUMMARY
The Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing manufactured products to meet quality, appearance, and customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Painter ensures products are properly coated using approved methods and equipment while maintaining an organized and safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Load and unload products onto and off the paint line safely and efficiently.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, masking, and removing previous coatings as required.
- Apply paint using appropriate equipment such as spray guns and rattle cans.
- Follow Manufacturing Orders (MOs), blueprints, and written or verbal instructions to ensure correct application and coverage.
- Inspect finished products to ensure proper coating thickness, finish quality, and appearance standards are met.
- Handle materials efficiently and safely to prevent damage to products or equipment.
- Maintain paint equipment and workstations in proper working order.
- Follow all facility safety procedures, including PPE requirements and proper handling of chemicals and coatings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint area in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or GED required
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and roll forming processes is a plus
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least six (6) months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Previous industrial or production painting experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read blueprints and utilize a tape measure.
- Ability to follow operating instructions and safety procedures consistently.
