We’re looking for a Senior Series Commodity Manager to develop commodity strategies for current and future programs, source and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders to fulfill demand. - Ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations.
- Develop and execute supply chain project plans for assigned new product development projects.
- Manage all aspects of assigned commodities – commodity strategies, market conditions, technology roadmaps, and should cost creation .
- Manage a supply base that meet Singer’s Cost, Quality, and Delivery targets.
- Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals .
- Mentor/assist junior commodity managers/buyers
What You’ll Do:
- Be responsible for issuance of RFQs
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to achieve program milestones and customer requirements.
- Be accountable for ensuring accuracy of part master data within MRP
- Generate purchase requisitions and place Purchase Orders with suppliers to meet demand
- Support issuing RFI, RFP, RFQ, PO placement and other purchasing activities as needed.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields
- (7) plus years of experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, GSM or equivalent
- Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers
- Knowledge of procurement strategies, should cost models and technology roadmaps
- Bonus points if you come from a rapid growth environment and/or automotive/aerospace
- A true team player with a positive attitude
- Strong ability to coach and lead team members within the department
Location & Schedule:
Onsite in Torrance, CA . This is a salaried, exempt role, but the General schedule is 7am-3:30pm.
What We Offer - Benefits Driven by You:
The starting pay range for this position is between $86, 953 - $110,000 per year plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
