Warehouse

Catawba, a Singer Industrial company, specializes in supplying mechanical rubber goods to Industrial companies. We are seeking a warehouse person in our Charlotte office. The warehouse person will perform fabrication tasks that include cutting hose, sheet rubber and gasket material to specifications, and building hose assemblies. They will serve customers courteously and efficiently at the customer service counter. He/she will properly maintain warehouse equipment. The warehouse person will work with other company personnel to accomplish the company’s objectives.

Successful applicants must have a good mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with tools and equipment. This job is fast paced, independent work, characterized by a variety of frequently changing tasks. The ability to read and follow complex instructions is essential. Previous experience with fluid power or plumbing/HVAC products is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Fill customer orders and stock
• Performs hose assembly (cutting hoses to size and attaching components to manufacturer specs)
• Operates manufacturing equipment, including forklift, crimpers, Bandit, saw.
• Responsible for accurately completing work orders.
• Performs daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Conducts in-process inspection and enters work order data.
• Communicates workflow problems and equipment needs.
• Able to multitask without constant supervision.
• Exercise good housekeeping in the work area.
• May be required to work overtime.
• May be required to train new employees.
• Label outbound material with appropriate shipping information.

• Good math and measuring skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good computer knowledge and skills
• Customer Service
• NAHAD certification a plus.
• Hose assembly experience a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
