Singer Equipment, the largest foodservice equipment and supplies distributor in the mid-Atlantic region, is hiring experienced full time local Day Shift Driver/ Warehouse Worker to join their warehouse team. LOCAL routes only! No Weekends!
Essential Functions
- Drive/operate box truck to transport orders between customer locations.
- Manually handle equipment from pallets and load to hand truck to transport customer orders into the facility.
- Utilize pallet jack to move pallets of product to and from truck to delivery location.
- Communicate with customer and/or supervisor using handheld devices.
- Conduct daily inspection of truck prior to departure and arrival
- Manually break down freight and receive into computer system.
- Put away product utilizing powered industrial equipment.
- Perform tasks in a safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify and report workplace hazards.
- Assist with warehouse activities when a delivery route is not scheduled
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, reach, squat and bend during an assigned shift.
- Clean driving history
- Pass DOT Medical and Physical Examination and other clearances
- Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
- Safety oriented
- Able to follow predetermined routing/directions
- Works well in a team environment and with minimal supervision
