Business Development Manager
Location: Great Lakes Region of USA
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition and build our presence within the CPG market.
This is a high-impact, new business role focused on identifying, engaging, and winning new CPG brands. You will be responsible for building your own pipeline, closing new accounts, and helping expand our footprint in a rapidly growing market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and acquire new CPG customers across North America, prioritizing opportunities in Great Lakes Region of USA.
- Conduct cold outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate new sales opportunities.
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified CPG prospects.
- Schedule and attend in-person meetings and facility visits with prospects across Great Lakes Region of USA.
- Present our packaging capabilities and develop custom packaging solutions based on customer needs.
- Prepare proposals and negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to close new business.
- Work closely with internal teams (estimating, production, and customer service) to ensure accurate quoting and smooth onboarding of new clients.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, opportunities, and pipeline in CRM systems.
- Represent us at industry trade shows, events, and networking events; and conduct pre-show prospect outreach and post-show follow-ups to convert leads and opportunities into new business.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual new revenue targets.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of business development or new business sales experience in a B2B environment.
- Strong preference for candidates with:
- Experience selling to CPG brands, or
- Direct experience working within the CPG industry.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business.
- Experience selling manufacturing, packaging, printing, or supply chain services is an asset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong hunter mentality and ability to work independently.
Requirements
- Based in the Great Lakes Region of USA.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel and cover territory within great lakes region.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for local client visits and prospect meetings.
- Ability to travel locally within Great Lakes Region of USA, with occasional travel across North America as needed.
