Brief Description

The Director of Institutional Research & Assessment oversees and leads the institutional research and assessment needs of the University, providing all areas of the institution with accurate data and appropriate interpretations to support informed decision-making. The director is responsible for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and other regulatory reporting, and works with appropriate faculty and University officers to ensure that student educational outcomes are effectively measured and achieved. The Director of Institutional Research & Assessment reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in college or university institutional research
  • Working knowledge of best practices in university institutional research and assessment
  • Working knowledge of assessment and evidentiary requirements for WASC institutions
  • High degree of competence in IPEDS reporting policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of FERPA regulations and confidentiality requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries and/or working with Unidata databases
  • Experience with BI dashboards (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with assessment software preferred (i.e. Watermark Planning & Self Study and Course Evaluations & Surveys)
  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis abilities in order to accurately interpret data
  • High level of initiative and motivation with demonstrated collaboration and facilitation skills
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism
