Real Estate Transaction Associate

A highly regarded, mid-sized New York law firm with a national reputation in shareholder activism and corporate governance is seeking a c.4th–6th year Transactional Real Estate Associate to join its growing real estate group.
About the Firm
- ~100 attorneys
- Full-service platform with sophisticated institutional clients
- Strong profitability and long-tenured attorneys
- Structured similar to Big Law (formal support, summer program, professional administration)
- Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office, Fridays remote
The firm has recently added real estate partners and is experiencing increased transactional workflow.
The Role
The associate will work on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including:
- Acquisitions and dispositions
- Commercial leasing
- Development transaction
- Real estate financing (borrower and lender side)
Work is partner-fed and involves meaningful responsibility on sophisticated New York-based transactions.
Required:
- NY Bar admission
- Law firm experience
- Strong New York commercial real estate transactional experience
- Stable employment history
Preferred:
- Strong academic credentials (3.4 GPA preferred)
- Experience handling deals with significant responsibility
Compensation & Hours
- 1,800 billable hour target
- Discretionary but competitive bonus
- Cravath-scale compensation
