The Department of Sports Science and Health Education invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Exercise Science faculty position beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year. The department offers majors in Health and Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Administration, and Healthcare Administration. It seeks a dynamic candidate committed to teaching excellence to complement the department's current strengths while contributing their own expertise. Qualified candidates with advanced knowledge and experience in nutrition, exercise testing and prescription, clinical therapy, and research are preferred. Current strengths of the program include exercise physiology, sport performance, biomechanics, and injury assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation.

The Selected Candidate Will
- Teach 6 classes per year, consistent with departmental need and the candidate’s training and interests. Courses may include General Nutrition, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Clinical Conditions & Medical Terminology.
- Contribute to student success and recruitment, engage in the general education program, advise students and student clubs, incorporate experiential learning into coursework, and possibly mentor student undergraduate research.
Required Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health & Human Performance, Public Health, Dietetics, or similar field. PhD or EdD required (ABD considered).
- Evidence of successful, innovative college-level teaching experience with the ability to utilize research and classroom technology.
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to fostering a welcoming learning environment for all.
- Demonstrate ability to develop corporate partnerships and collaborate with colleagues to facilitate student experiential learning, research, and internship opportunities.
- Willingness to participate in department activities, service to the college, and ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a collegial and cooperative manner.
