Job Summary of the Part-Time Wood Shop Assembler:
Are you looking for a hands-on position to work in a dynamic and supportive environment? We are looking to hire a Part-Time / Assembler in our Wood Shop on 2nd Shift!
Schedule: Monday–Thursday. 6 hours/day. Flexible start time between 3:00 PM and Midnight
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Part-Time Wood Shop Assembler:
- Compares identifying information and counts , weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Insert items into containers.
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
- Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Counts, weighs, measures, or examines packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
- Compares items packed with customer's orders and other identifying data.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers, or select preassembled containers
- Insert items into containers with care and accuracy
- Nail covers onto wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
