Financial Controller (CPA Required)
Location: Medley, FL (Local candidates only)
Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000 per year plus up to a 25% bonus
Job Summary
We are a profitable, growing Miami-based company seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a hands-on role responsible for monthly closes, financial reporting, lender reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls.
The ideal candidate is a CPA, bilingual in English and Spanish, locally based, and has prior experience as a Controller in a small-to-mid-sized business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Maintain and manage the general ledger in QuickBooks
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Serve as primary contact for investor and debt reporting
- Monitor and report on loan covenants and lender requirements
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related processes
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Improve and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
- Support leadership with financial analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license (preferred)
- Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
- Must be based in Medley / Miami / South Florida
- 5 years of accounting experience, including prior experience as a Controller
- Proven experience closing monthly books
- Experience working with lenders, debt facilities, or bank reporting
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
- Experience in a small or mid-sized company environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a privately held or entrepreneurial company
- Experience in a private equity backed company
- Strong cash flow and working capital management skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 (based on experience) plus up to a 25% bonus (based on performance)
