What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Simplex Inc?
Description
The painter prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods from spray to powder coat; mixes paints and finishes.
- Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints surfaces utilizing spray paint and/or powder coating.
- Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, sprayers and pumps, etc.
- Safely stores and labels all materials.
- Mixes materials for proper application.
- Maintains and repairs/replaces all painting personal protective equipment.
- Loads and moves materials to paint area using manual pallet jack
- Cleans spray chambers, conveyors, tanks, hoses, and nozzles using solvent.
- Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) the English language clearly
Requirements
- Ability to setup and operate paint booth machines.
- Ability to use standard measuring tools (i.e. micrometers and gauges).
- Ability to left up to 100 pounds; 30 – 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.
- Ability to coordinate work flow for multiple projects.
- Ability to use sander and grinder
