Duties
- Support clients in community safety while promoting independent life skills
- Support participants during group activities, outings, and community integration efforts to encourage social participation and skill development.
- Monitor health and safety by observing residents closely, helping individuals with ADLs such as but not limited to limited to incontinence care, small hygiene tasks, and upkeep on positive living.
- Help clients prepare their lunches
- Follow care plans meticulously, including medication administration and documentation of patient progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring all safety protocols are followed at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and medication management.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance, and other relevant health and safety standards are highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient care; ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior promptly.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, and healthcare professionals.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and assist with resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
