Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Simiron is seeking an experienced and hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to establish and lead the Company's Environmental, Health & Safety program across multiple manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, and retail locations throughout the United States.

This is a newly created position that offers a unique opportunity to build the Company's EHS function from the ground up. The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety and environmental programs, policies, procedures, training, and compliance initiatives while helping establish a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who also enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day operations. This individual will partner with leadership to identify risks, implement best practices, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations, and create standardized safety processes that support the Company's continued growth. This role requires frequent travel to company facilities to conduct audits, provide training, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement across all locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide Environmental, Health & Safety programs and policies.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state environmental agencies, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, facility audits, and risk assessments across all company locations.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective action plans to minimize workplace risks.
• Lead investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to safety performance and regulatory compliance.
• Create and deliver safety training programs, including new hire orientation, forklift certification, hazard communication, PPE, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, fall protection, emergency response, and other required training.
• Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, and 301) and other required environmental and safety records.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous waste management, chemical storage, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and environmental reporting requirements.
• Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate drills for fire, severe weather, chemical spills, and other emergencies.
• Partner with Human Resources regarding workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, injury prevention initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
• Conduct job hazard analyses and ergonomic assessments.
• Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and facility layouts to enhance employee safety.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and serve as the primary contact for OSHA and environmental agency visits.
• Monitor changes in environmental and safety regulations and update company policies accordingly.
• Prepare reports and communicate safety metrics and compliance updates to executive leadership.
• Promote employee engagement by leading safety committees and encouraging proactive hazard reporting.
• Travel regularly to manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and retail locations to support safety initiatives and ensure consistency across all facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, distribution, coatings, construction materials, or similar environments.
• Multi-site safety management experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910), EPA regulations, DOT requirements, and applicable state regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing company-wide safety programs.
• Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience conducting environmental and safety audits.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and training abilities.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence employees and leadership while promoting accountability and a positive safety culture.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk manufacturing plants, warehouses, retail stores, and construction environments for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection when necessary.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Travel Requirements

• Frequent travel (approximately 30–50%) throughout the United States.
• Flexibility to respond to workplace incidents or regulatory matters as business needs require.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
