What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Assembler A position at Simcona Electronics Corp?
General Description: Assemble electrical control panels in an efficient manner consistent with the standards of Simcona/IEWC. Assemblers must have the ability to understand and follow any and all assembly instructions and display genuine interest in satisfying our customers. An Electrical Assembler ‘A’ may be asked from time to time to assist in training or otherwise helping other Electrical Assembly employees. Electrical Assembler ‘A’ employees are also required to show leadership in the areas of work performance, quality, and attitude.
Essential Job Functions:
· Perform mechanical assembly without drilling or modifications
· Install DIN rail, wire duct, and wire way covers
· Mount components only when holes are pre-drilled
· Extensive knowledge of basic hand tools and torque tools
· Install pre-processed wire kits produced by the automated wire processing department
· Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, IEC.
· Build complex and high-risk panels independently
· Interpret multiple drawing styles, revisions, notes, and customer requirements
· Plan and verify all mechanical layout and drilling decisions
· Define wiring strategy and build sequencing
· Troubleshoot wiring, layout, and integration issues
· Interface effectively with Engineering, QC, and Test
· Understand UL 508A principles as they apply to assembly
· Identify potential design or workmanship risks and escalate appropriately
· Simplify and optimize builds for repeatability and efficiency
· Lead or coordinate builds involving multiple assemblers
· Set workmanship expectations and mentor others
· Consistently deliver panels with minimal or no QC findings. Must have the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
· Must know company procedures and be able to train others.
· Computer literate in basic Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
Work Experience Requirements:
· Four or more years’ experience in electrical assembly or related electrical field.
· Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
· Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
· Experience with quality procedures, including ISO9001:2015 requirements.
Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
