What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT CONTROLLER position at SILVERTON CASINO LLC?
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Adherence to all policies stated in the Team Member Handbook.
- Perform all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board regulations, federal and state laws, and company policies and procedures.
- Oversee casino accounting functions, including accounts payable coordination, inventory control oversight, and payroll processing related to gaming operations.
- Assist with and supervise the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Plan and monitor the balance sheet reconciliation process and fixed asset accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness on a monthly basis.
- Work directly with executive leadership and operational departments to support gaming-related financial reporting and analysis.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports and operational insight related to casino performance.
- Maintain primary responsibility and accountability for Gaming Control Board matters, including regulatory compliance, reporting, and audit coordination.
- Participate in developing and maintaining operating guidelines and accounting procedures for casino operations.
- Develop and implement processes for effective P&L review at the property and departmental levels, with emphasis on gaming revenue and related expenses.
- Administer filings related to gaming licenses, taxes, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and advise on daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports and gaming performance metrics.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports in accordance with established deadlines.
- Lead, schedule, evaluate, train, develop, and monitor subordinate personnel to ensure a proactive and responsive accounting function.
- Provide departments with tools, reporting, and metrics to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of casino operations.
- Approve transactions in accordance with the established approval matrix and internal control framework.
- Ensure readiness for gaming, financial, and compliance audits and facilitate timely resolution of audit findings.
- Support and motivate the executive leadership team through financial insight and operational partnership.
- Assess staffing needs and recommend accounting and finance resources required to effectively support casino operations.
- Demonstrate professionalism and receptiveness to performance feedback.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience required.
- Working knowledge of gaming regulations and casino industry operations preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or comparable ERP systems preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial and gaming software applications.
