- Oversee all food production including special events, themed meals and special nutritional needs.

- Maximize the effective delivery of food services through careful management of available resources and staff.
- Promote and enhance the orderly operation of the department through thoughtful planning, effective communication and appropriate follow-up regarding assigned duties.
- Ensures responsibility for the quality and quantity of food served.
- Adheres to all sanitary regulations and standards governing handling, storing and serving of food. Monitors all items are labeled, dated and rotated.
- Oversees that meals are prepared and served on schedule. Performs cooking responsibilities as needed.
- Investigates trends and developments in culinary practices and techniques and evaluates their adaptability to the dining service program.
- Develops, revises and adapts work techniques and methods for more efficient operations and trains appropriate staff members.
- Monitors and maintains accurate records including food temperatures, refrigerator temperatures.
- Attends monthly food committee meetings with residents.
- Reviews and evaluates the work performance of the dining service staff to include cooks and utility personnel. Counsels, disciplines staff according to established company and department policy.
- Ensures all food handling is in conjunction with local and community health and department requirements.
- Adheres to all OSHA regulations and safety procedures personally and in terms of staff (ie work assignments, incident reporting and investigation).
- Puts residents first, ensures that all residents, families and employees receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Assumes responsibility for self-safety and that of immediate work environment.
- Attends annual in-service on body mechanics, right-to-know laws, and fire and safety procedures and adheres to policies.
- Adheres to all Huntington Community Policies and Procedures including uniform requirements and break schedule.
- Five to ten years of professional kitchen experience.
- ServSafe Certification.
- Culinary Arts degree preferred.
