Position Summary
SilverEdge Cooperative is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to operate out of our Strawberry Point location. This position supports our retail agriculture operations by safely operating trucks, trailers, and equipment used to deliver agricultural products and services to our member-owners and customers. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-minded, safety-driven, and willing to assist with a variety of operational duties throughout the year, including pulling anhydrous ammonia tanks.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles and other vehicles related to retail agriculture.
- Transport fertilizer, seed, feed, agronomy products, equipment, and other agricultural products.
- Pull and transport anhydrous ammonia tanks in compliance with DOT, OSHA, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Load, unload, secure, and handle products and equipment safely and accurately.
- Maintain required logs, delivery tickets, inspection records, and other documentation.
- Assist with seasonal agronomy operations, facility work, maintenance, inventory, and general labor as assigned.
- Operate forklifts, loaders, and other assigned equipment when trained and authorized.
- Provide courteous, professional service to customers, coworkers, and member-owners.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required endorsements, certifications, and DOT medical qualification.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Agricultural, agronomy, or equipment operation experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and prioritize safety in all tasks.
- Willingness to work seasonal extended hours, including spring and fall peak periods.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical labor as needed.
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, reach, and safely enter and exit trucks and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around agricultural products and equipment.
- Must comply with company safety policies, DOT requirements, and all applicable regulations.
