Head Golf Coach

The High School Golf Head Coach is responsible for leading a Christ-centered golf program that develops student-athletes spiritually, personally, and athletically. This position exists to cultivate a disciplined, character-driven team culture that emphasizes integrity, self-management, sportsmanship, and pursuit of excellence in alignment with the mission and values of Silverdale Baptist Academy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model a Christ-centered approach to coaching that reflects the mission, core values, and Statement of Faith of Silverdale Baptist Academy.
• Establish and sustain a team culture rooted in integrity, accountability, discipline, and respect.
• Develop student-athletes in both individual skill growth and team responsibility, emphasizing character and self-leadership.
• Evaluate individual student-athletes and develop practice plans that address technique, course management, mental preparation, and competitive readiness.
• Teach and reinforce golf fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and sportsmanship.
• Plan and conduct organized practices, range sessions, and course play that promote skill development and competitive growth.
• Communicate proactively and professionally with student-athletes and parents/guardians regarding expectations, schedules, tournaments, and program standards.
• Supervise and attend all practices, matches, tournaments, and postseason competition.
• Promote positive representation of Silverdale Baptist Academy at all competitions and events.
• Support the holistic development of student-athletes, including character, leadership, responsibility, and personal growth.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, TSSAA regulations, and athletic department expectations.
• Conduct pre-season conditioning and practices, if applicable.
• Following Academy Approval, may operate school vehicles and transport student athletes to games/events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintains a professional standard of dress and an engaging personality
• Prompt and continuous attendance on campus

• Previous golf coaching or competitive playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and course management.
• Ability to teach technical skills while emphasizing mental discipline and personal responsibility.
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes, promoting teamwork and personal growth.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism in confidential and sensitive student/family matters.
• Ability to commit to the full season, including practices, matches, and tournaments.
• Completion of required TSSAA courses, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Personal faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission of Silverdale Baptist Academy, and agreement with the SBA Statement of Faith.
