Job Title: Retail Team Lead
FLSA Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: 24-28 hours per week (3 shifts including 1 weekend day)
Department: Thrift Store, Monument Location
Reports to: Retail Sales Director
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Retail Team Lead serves as a key holder and shift leader for the Silver Key Thrift Store. Responsible for smooth day-to-day operations, consistent execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), measurable donation processing productivity, and exceptional customer service during assigned shifts.
As there is not a supervisor on-site daily, this position operates independently with accountability while maintaining consistent communication with the Retail Sales Director, who provides weekly oversight.
This role requires physical stamina, operational focus, trend awareness, and the ability to lead volunteers with both warmth and accountability in a fast-paced, community-centered retail environment.

With supervisor approval, employees may participate in professional development opportunities that enhance leadership, communication, and operational skills.
DRIVING DUTIES
Might be asked to drive donations to other drop off sites or make deposits at the bank. Both locations are within a few miles of the store.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Silver Key Senior Services is a drug-free organization. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background checks. Business-specific knowledge: Knowledge of Silver Key Senior Services mission statement, policies/procedures, business-specific software, and safety regulations. This position does not require a background check by Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS).
REQUIRED EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires good proficiency in the use of a Point of Sale register. Microsoft word applications. This position will often require multi-tasking in the use of register, phone, and retail equipment while interacting with clients.
Language Skills
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability and comprehension of basic math including percentages and fractions; capable of interpreting appropriate retail sales data from management.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Fast paced and moderate noise within a retail atmosphere with shoppers, music, and warehouse activity.

- Creates an extraordinary customer service experience by providing a warm and welcoming store that is clean and organized
- Serves as key holder and assumes responsibility for store operations during assigned shifts.
- Executes and upholds all Standard Operating Procedures consistently.
- Trains, supports, directs, and works alongside volunteers to carry out the day-to-day operations and reinforce productivity standards.
- Maintains consistent donation processing and ensures daily production expectations are met.
- Balances customer service, volunteer coordination, and processing momentum.
- Responsible for daily cash handling, register reconciliation, and deposits as assigned.
- Works closely with Retail Director to carry out changes that support the growth of the store and volunteers.
- Contributes to a work atmosphere that is safe, productive, efficient and fun

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of retail and cash handling experience
- Two years of volunteer leadership experience
- Additional college coursework in business, retail management, or related field preferred - or equivalent professional experience demonstrating increased responsibility.
- A passion and knowledge of both classic and current fashion trends
- Ability to identify items of value and merchandise efficiently and creatively.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Previous thrift store experience a plus

- Standing and Walking: Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate store equipment.
- Reaching and Handling: Regular reaching to stock shelves and handle merchandise.
- Bending: Frequent stooping, kneeling, or crouching to access lower shelves.
- Lifting and Carrying: Must lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
